It would be so much smoother if one could simply Ctrl-Click / Cmd-Click on the target slot to copy the currently played pattern there. Going even further, Ctrl+Shift+Click could additionally activate the target slot. It would allow creating a dozen variations of a pattern in a breeze, without audible interruptions, and - most of all - without three dozen mouse clicks.
