A quick “How To” guide on routing your favorite drum plugin in Waveform Pro 12.
For those having issues with Solo not working on multi routed channel Drums this is how I do it. I will explain using a clean project with no tracks using EZdrummer.
Go into Settings > General and change Solo Behavior to Cumulative Solo.
Open new empty song and add track, and name the track Drums (This will house all your midi files).
Add Ezdrummer 3 on Drum track (I’m using Ezdrummer 3 Made of Metal but this works on Superior Drummer, Native Instruments etc.).
Open Ezdrummer, go to the mixer section and change output routing to the following:
Kick = ¾ Snare = 5/6 Toms = 7/8 Hi-Hat = 9/10 OH – 11/12 Amb = 13/14 Amb Mono 15/16 Drum Comp 17/18 Reverb = 19/20 (I start with ¾ so the Drum Track isn’t being triggered)
Now add 10 new tracks and name them as shown above from EZdrummer.
Now right click on the Ezdrummer plugin and choose “wrap this plugin in a new rack plugin”, it should turn purple.
Now Ctrl + Mouse drag the purple plugin onto each track you created.
You should have 11 tracks now – Drums, Kick, Snare, Toms, Hi-Hat, OH, Amb, Amb Mono, Drum Comp, and Reverb,
Click on the Purple Wrapper in the Drums Track so it opens the Plugin Rack.
Go to Clear Wiring and Clear all output wiring.
Go to Connect wires and connect outputs sequentially.
Now go back to the Drum Track and right click on the Solo button and change it to Solo Isolate (it should now show SI for solo) only do this for this Track.
Now add some midi to the Drum Track and loop (to test) and solo snare, now you should just hear the snare. Solo OH, now you should just hear the Over Heads.
Since we changed the Solo Behavior to Cumulative Solo in Settings you can also solo a combination of Kick and Snare and hear them both or any other combinations to solo out different drum tracks.
Now you can select all 10 tracks (minus the Drum Track) and pack them in a Folder, what this will do is keep the Drum Track visible so you can work in the Drum Grid and shrink down all the separated drums tracks in the folder.
You can even create a new Track and call it Drum Bus and route the 10 Tracks to it (minus the Drum Track) or select the 10 Tracks (minus the Drum Track) and Pack selected tracks into Submix track.
I tested this method with Superior Drummer, Native Instruments (Getgood Drums, MixWave, Krimh Drums and Drumforge Savior).
* Native Instruments has their own routing, lots of YouTube videos on how to do that
* There are other ways to setup routing in Waveform, you can do most of it in the Rack by drag and drop
* Their are literally 3 ways to do one thing in Waveform I found so far, this option I show is a good starting point.
Please feel free to add other options.

If you create a bus by changing the output of eg: tracks 1,2,3,4 to track 5, then soloing the bus (track 5) solos every track that outputs into track 5. I then folder all the feeder tracks and leave the bus visible for quick access. Waveform is pretty versatile in its internal routing options, one of my favourite things about it.
