Harddrive- or Tracktiontrouble (?)

I don't really know if this is a Tracktion-problem or a problem with my harddrive.

When i render an edit to my D: drive, Tracktion never properly ends it; "trimming silence" doesn't happen and what's worse, Tracktion crashes and "falls apart" on screen, doesn't react anymore and i have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to kill Tracktion.exe.

Strangely enough, when i render to my C: drive there are absolutely no problems and everything behaves like it should.

What could be the cause of this?

Tracktion crashes after rendering on both drives now. Version 1.5.16 and 1.6.1. Rendering is finalized, but Tracktion.exe must be killed to continue working.
Does anybody else have this problem? Jules, do you know what could be the cause of this?

no idea what's causing your problem here, but I thought I'd pitch that I can render on drives C-J with ease
