Track Multi Input SideChain not working on hw input

When I set a track to 4 inputs, then add a sidechain compressor, then go into the sidechain menu, then select input 3-4 going to the compressor sidechain input, there is no sound.

Using a separate track, works, but that track has to be muted to not send the sound to unintended places, has happened. This just looks ugly and is a little un-intuitive.

Reason this is important to me is: I use and RME soundcard for realtime audio (under 10ms roundtrip) and doing hardware mixing of tracks saves a lot of cpu cycles. That also goes for sidechain routing.
