Why not skip racks and or add a workspace for true route as you like cables?

If you look at a less know but cool daw from Sweden Live Professor, I think you could borrow some great ideas that would enhance Traction.

Look at how this daw uses rack chains almost like Traction, but you have a workspace, where you can connect cables between every rack and hardware input output in any combination you like. Same goes for midi. It is extremely intuitive and user friendly, flexible and powerful.

Just a friendly suggestion.
