Route midi from track, audio also follows

I was doing some midi sidechain with Tal filter 2. So I routed midi from the kick track, but I also got the sound from the kick. Was expecting only midi.

How did you route the MIDI from the kick track ?

I added 1 more input to the bass synth track
I have a bass synth bus track(not submix), 3 inputs, 2 audio and 1 midi. I right clicked on the third input and chose "Route midi from track" and selected the track that has the midi sequencer for the kick synth.
