MuLab has just added VST3 support and several Synths are showing up as FX.
Jo, the developer, says the plugins are sending that info to MuLab.
Here is the info that MuLab gives for the Diva VST3 plugin:

Code: Select all

Name = Diva
Folder = {Application}/- VST's/Synth/Diva
File = Diva(x64).vst3
Bit Size = 64

Plugin Type = VST3 Effect
SDK Version = VST 3.7.8

Vendor Name = u-he
As you can see, the 'Plugin Type' is showing as 'VST3 Effect' which it obviously isn't.
Could you please confirm this is the case as Reaper states it is a VSTi.

The affected VST Synths I have installed are Diva and Hive, I also have the demo of ACE installed which seems also to be affected, not sure about other U-he plugins. There are some others from Roland, Korg and couple others in my collection.

I just wanted to check with you to see if there's anything you can adjust your end.
Thanks.

EDIT: Add TripleCheese to that list! ;)

Jo had mentioned that MuLab currently cannot handle multiple plugins inside a single plugin file, so I'd expect some issues with Zebra2, Filterscape and Repro.
But we currently have no idea why plugins like Diva or TripleCheese would register as effects in MuLab, while they register as synth in any other Windows host out there.
We'll have a look and maybe talk to Jo to find out some more.

Hi sl23,

just tested this with the latest MuLab beta on my Windows machine but get this result:
MuTools-Diva-VST3-info.jpg
So all seems well on our end, not sure what's happening on your machine.
Are you on Windows as well? Or could you post your system specs maybe?
And what happens if you rescan the plugins?

I just checked Diva and it had moved to the Synth folder???
So I tried Rescanning, as you suggested, and Hive and TripleCheese were reclassified as Instrument! Weird!
Least it's sorted, Sorry for the bother and thanks for the help.

No worries, glad to hear it!
