Save audio clip?

Is there a way to save your own audio clips within Waveform (free)? Have a short shaker clip I could imagine wanting to use in more than one project. Was just wondering if there was a way to kinda paperclip it into the software to make it easier to nab whenever I want.
Thanks
Thanks

Right click on it and save it as a preset. You can then pull it into any project from the browser window on your left.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Hmm...that was the first thing I tried. Let me go back in and try again...Watchful wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 1:11 pm Right click on it and save it as a preset. You can then pull it into any project from the browser window on your left.
Ah, okay... So it looks like you can only do it if you right click on the track, and then save the whole track (or plug-ins). But I don't seem to get any option like that if I just right-click on the clip itself.

Try the following:
* Install Audacity
* In WF: Select the clip and call "View source Info". Click on the [...] right to the file name.
* Then click on "Edit Audio File" and assign Audacity as en extral audio editor. see "Set audio editor to use"
* Click on "Edit Audio File" again and open your audio clip with Audacity.
* In Audacity: Call File -> Export to save the clip into your audio clip folder.

When you use the word clip the second time, are you referring to an audio clip or a MIDI clip?irpacynot wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 8:07 am Is there a way to save your own audio clips within Waveform (free)? Have a short shaker clip
Surely there must be consensus by now...

When you have an audio clip selected and go to File->Export:Render to file there will be an option to just render selected clips. Maybe this does what you want?
Or, I just remembered, if you select the clip and go to loop properties there is an Add to library option (on Pro version anyway).

If you have a MIDI clip that you want to turn into an audio clip that can be saved to your library for easy recall, here's how to do it.
Step 0: As always, open the Control Panel at the bottom into "Useful" mode. There are so many things you can do from the open Control Panel. If I'm not mistaken, they hide it by default because they like making me type this instruction over and over and over and over again.
Step 1. Render the MIDI clip.
Select the MIDI clip and use the "Render Clip -> Render the selected clip" in the Control Panel.
Step 2: Add to library.
Select the resulting audio clip, switch the tab in the Control Panel to "Loop Properties" and use the "Add to Library" button to add it to your library.
Note that it might not show up right away. I had to close and re-open the Edit to be able to find it as a preset (actually it's under "Samples" in the Browser).

Okay, so...
Eh...
Yeah, I'm looking to save audio clips that I can easily pull to a track like I would one of their default clips. Let me try what you suggested.
Thanks, guys.
