Casio CT-X700 "Couldn't open the MIDI port" in Waveform

My CT-X700 suddenly started displaying this message when i try to enable it in midi devices. It used to work normally and still works in other DAWs. Most posts about this issue basically boil down to bad drivers, but CT-X700 doesn't have any. Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this?

Windows, Mac, Linux?
It's possible that you have another application that's got it open and the device is "reserved in exclusive mode" by another application?
