I was doing some experimentation with the TurboFilter module in MXXX. I was using BlueCat Patchwork as the host (starts in about a tenth of the time that Cubase does).
No matter what I did, I could not get the Time parameter to do anything, including in the factory preset that demos its use. Running it later in Cubase, everything worked as expected. So there is clearly something the Cubase environment is providing that a simpler host might not be.
I think this could be a problem in situations where a live performer is using a modest host for a virtual instrument, which is not at all a farfetched scenario. If TurboFilter can determine that the requisite timing information isn't being supplied and using an internal timer instead, that might be a really good thing.

I guess PatchWork doesn't properly implement time info needed for this. Try Reaper
