Dear Bitwig-People, Bitwig has a Looper now! This has nothing to do with the 5.1 release. It’s just a coincidence i finished my video about my looper on the same day, and i didnt want to wait with sharing it. See it as additional positive news
The Looper automatically records Clips in the Cliplauncher. So this isn't a grid device, but a way more direct way to engage with the recorded 'Looper-Content'. It's running in an external controller software called Touch OSC
So as you can tell, since my "5 reasons why i would love to switch to Bitwig..." Video, i not only fully switched to Bitwig, but committed 100% to it
Btw: you can build any kind of control surface in Touch OSC for free, if you watch enough tutorials. So you could take my video as starting point for creating your own wonderfully customized controller.

I m also still waiting for a Bitwig internal solution and would prefer it (if it’s also recording in the launcher)!
But until then (and who knows when! it has been 9 years since Bitwigs release without a Looper), it’s better than nothing, for me

I was working on it for several months, and on the video for 1+ month. I finished the video yesterday. I didn’t want to wait to release it, just because by coincidence, the stable version of 5.1 was released, too.
I see it as a pleasant additional news for anyone who wanted a looper for a long time. Besides, anyone can build the looper for free in Touch osc, just with the public infos available at drivenbymoss' script documentation and lua scripting, it just requires some work... So to some people who are willing to put in the work this video can be a starting point for their own -free- looper.
EDIT: I also changed the title now, including the hint that i built the Looper, not Bitwig. If you think my intention was to mislead, you're wrong. What on earth would i gain from misleading people? Again, i see my Looper dropping simultaneously with Bitwig 5.1 by coincidence as pleasant surprise and great additional news to anyone who is as passionate about Looping as me. And to anyone who watches my video it should be crystal clear that this is a passion project 100%, without focus on 'selling'. Aside from that: How could one ever assume that any device created for a niche within a niche is mainly done for 'selling', with an estimated community base of just some handful of people worldwide who are even interested? The months worth of time spent on working on this would have been much better invested in projects for bigger audiences, if it wasn't purely about passion. Let me also add that great Bitwig people like Polarity Music also don't give out every gem they create in the grid for free, and only hand it out to their patrons.
Again, you can build the Looper for free in Touch OSC, if you put the work in. Have a nice day.

Haha, the comment about needing brain surgery to understand it is quite fitting when first using ENSO out of the box, and coming from a more traditional looper-expectation.
That's due to the fact that
"Let’s be clear about one thing: Enso is not meant to replace an RC505 (or Oberheim Echoplex). It is meant to recreate the experience of Frippertronics." (Quote from Ensos creator, in the #chat channel of Audiodamage Discord.)

As of right now, Enso still has no UNDO and REDO, and some other QoL functions for Loopers are also missing. MSuperlooper is the way to go, imho. MSuperlooper has a really well-rounded and in-depth toolset for Looping. Coming from Enso to MSuperlooper is like "ahhh, finally a real loopstation with all the functions i want".
With only one exeption: Enso looks better, with its nice donut-waveform, haha! But aside from just looks, Enso is far behind MSuperlooper concerning "traditional (RC505 style)" looping.

By the way, i even had created a little Mini-Interface for MSuperlooper, integrated in my Touch-Controller

But that was before i created my own Looper for Bitwig, which now records directly in Bitwigs Cliplauncher and therefore is much more "integrated" than MSuperlooper will ever be

Concerning recording live audio directly into the sampler, and having overdub there: yep, that would be awesome!
