I took a crack at explaining it. Basically the spectral mode is a more intelligent way of separating the stereo sides from he stereo mids. It's significantly more subtle than the mathematical subtraction done by traditional mid/side processing.

Pair the spectral stuff with the drawable graph, modulation, and other standard melda features and it's quite the stereo processing powerhouse!
