If having activated SETTINGS - GENERAL - EDITING - Detect tempo of important audio files, then the detected speed is for the Clip containing the audio file shown in the Clip's properties section on the "Loop Properties" tap as "Root Tempo".
If not having had activated this general setting when importing the audio file, is there a way to afterwards let the tempo be detected for the audio in a clip? I didn't find a clickable command for this, and according to my tests of the Groove Detector on the PRO version it also doesn't provide this function. What did I oversee? If not, does someone has a macro for this?
How to manually trigger the analysis of the BPM for a clip or selected range, please?
detect tempo of audio file AFTER having imported it already?

0. Open up the Control Panel at the bottom so you can see useful things
1. Select the audio clip
2. Swicth to the Loop Properties tab
3. Turn on Auto-Tempo
4. You may need to fiddle with values like number of beats

Surely there must be consensus by now...

It wasn't exactly this receipt. This would not analyse and set the root tempo. Thanks anyway for you kind efforts.
Understanding that you are sure this function would exist I once more searched in that area and eventually found it!

1. Select the audio clip
2. Switch to its Loop Properties tab
3. Select below the graphical drawing of the waveform in the Loop Properties tab the middle button "Beat Points >"
4. Trigger the function "Auto detect tempo"
Triggering this function here does not require its general activation in the Waveform SETTINGS, and does not require to activate for the Clip "Auto-Tempo".
