Did the Font/Text Change In Waveform 12?

Hey all,
I have been watching some tutorial vids done in Waveform 11 and I noticed that most of the text in the application looks significantly different in the video compared to my copy of 12. 12 looks, for lack of better descriptors, very sharp and digital. Sort of like you'd see in an old terminal or code editor or something. Did it change or am I losing it? Here are some screenshots:
Screenshot (WF11): WF12 Screenshot from the same YouTuber: It doesn't even seem like it's actually a different font; something about the text in WF12 is just very...in-your-face, I guess. Like everything on the screen is trying to get your attention all at once.
It's not a big deal at all but I thought I'd ask since I can't find anything about it changing and to me the text in the WF11 video looks nicer than what I currently have in 12. Does anybody know if there's a way to change it?

What's yours set to? Mine is set to Ariel in 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 but 6 and 7 are set to Malandra GD. I don't remember whether or when I've changed them.
You can choose another in Appearance on the Settings page.

I messed around with the fonts the other night. I just tried Arial again and it's a bit thicker than "default," (whatever that is) which on second try definitely looks better to me. I also tried some of my system fonts but they mostly bork up the UI. Thanks for the suggestion!

At some point we switched to Roboto as the default font, but I think that was before 12.

Thanks Mr. Bug! Is that what I'm seeing in those screenshots, and if so what was the font used before? I think the videos I was watching were pre-11.5 so maybe it changed then?FigBug wrote: Sat Mar 02, 2024 10:55 pm At some point we switched to Roboto as the default font, but I think that was before 12.

Are you on macOS? macOS removed subpixel rendering that made fonts look a bit different if you aren't using a retina display

Oh, I bet that's it! I am using Windows but the tutorials I was watching were done on a Mac. Mystery solved!FigBug wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 3:10 am Are you on macOS? macOS removed subpixel rendering that made fonts look a bit different if you aren't using a retina display
