MIDI sequencer like Apache SX, but better?

Hi folks,

Anyone know Cubase's Apache SX MIDI plugin?

It's a fun little MIDI clip launcher.

The way i use it is to jam on the keys for a few minutes while recording MIDI, then choose some phrases that i like, then chop the MIDI clip and load it into Apache SX for triggering, almost like a sampler, but of course it's MIDI, not audio.

But i was wondering is there exists an alternative that's a bit nicer to use, and with some more features? Specifiaclly, i'd like to be able to load different MIDI phrase on each key of my keyboard, assign each one its own MIDI output, and also have some control over the release time.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?
