Wow, long list. I've copied on a file to be able to review things. Thanks !!

Its an amazing update. A huge amouint of work has gone into it. The best update for me by far is stability - its much more stable than it was in the past. I did manage to crash it with Softube Model 84. It loads ok, but then refuses to close causing the whole DAW to crash. One thing that has been fixed for my machine (2024 Ryzen 7 laptop) is thaat Arturia plugins would not load in version 12. They now load ok.

With regard the clip launcher - I have been unable to find a way to edit clips in the same way that you can in Bitwig or Ableton. Maybe its user error on my part?

For MIDI clips, double-click on it if the piano roll is not showing and it should open. Otherwise just select it and it should show up in the piano roll.

I appreciate your help, but how does opening the piano roll help? Its individual clips that need there length adjusting. Editing in the piano roll just seems to cause a global edit. I need to edit a clip length independent of all the other clips. As I say, its probably user error on my part expecting it to work in the same way as Bitwig and Live.

The length of the clip can be set in the properties area in the lower part of the window (where the menus are) when expanded, or on the Actions tab of the Actions panel.

I see the content of just one MIDI or Step clip at a time in the piano roll - the one I have selected.

Modifying the content of that clip does not impact other clips.

It sounds like you might be trying to adjust the length of the clip by dragging the handles above the content? Those set the loop range for playback, which is global; they do not set the length of the clip.

I have no problem with setting the length of a clip, its moving the whole clip in relation to all the rest that I wish to do. The best solution I have found is to disengage the padlock in the midi clip panel and press control on your keypad. You can then grab a fiddly bar to the right side of your clip and slip edit the midi clip to where you want it. After doing this you can move the white bar at the end of the clip to set the clip length. It works, but its clunky.

Now I'm really confused. The whole point of the clip launcher is to keep the clips largely independent of each other and of their timing within the duration of the song. When you start talking about moving clips (I am assuming you mean their timing?) compared to each other, I would assume you would be on the regular timeline / arrangement and there you can just drag them where you want them.

Can you give an example of how you would do what you are trying to do in Bitwig or Ableton (I have the full versions of both and the new clip launcher in Waveform does not seem all that different to me yet at a basic level in any case)?

I am not sure what I did, but I seem to have got it to sync now. And I am really starting to enjoy this DAW. :)

Thanks to FigBug for providing the detailed change log for the new version; it's a quite impressive list. I've been using WF 12 free of late and I think my last paid version of Tracktion was somewhere around v6. While I don't see anything in 13 that I really need, I'm leaning strongly toward taking advantage of the release discount and buying the Waveform Pro bundle to support the product and get back into any future update flow.

This seems a very impressive update, but I'm finding it running very badly, in comparison to 12 Pro, on my modest Intel Macbook Air running OSX 12.61. Even the simplest of edits, running maybe two tracks, are causing stutters and sometimes temporary freezes. And that's with the default latency of 512. In Waveform 12 I can run far more tracks with a much reduced latency. (And the Wavetable synth in Waveform 13 is virtually unusable.)
I know that the CPU use is supposed to be improved in this update, but I'm finding it's much worse. Is anyone else having similar problems?

I haven't really gotten around to testing it too much, just installed it earlier, but straight off the bat I'm having issues with the new Clip Launcher feature: whenever I open it up in the Mixer the FPS drops and everything begins to stutter to the point that Waveform becomes unusable. Turning it off suddenly makes it run fine. Turning it back on, same thing... FPS drops, unusable.

Running on Windows 10, Intel Core i5, Radeon R9 380, 16 GB RAM, NI Komplete Audio ASIO driver.

Anyone else experienced this ?

No issues here on Win 10 and 11 using simply on board graphics, what Graphic rendering mode are you using? Maybe try the other one (Under settings->advanced->performance. May or may not help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried changing the performance setting (I ticked "use 64 bit maths etc"); it didn't really change anything, unfortunately. Still getting stutters and short freezes, even at 1024 samples latency.

Dd you try changing the GUI Rendering option in performance there are two options Software Rendering and Open GL?
