I'm not looking for clean reverbs, I'm looking for reverbs full of old digital character like the Quadraverb. I currently have the Goodhertz Megaverb, which is pretty amazing, but what others out there exist that are worth looking into? Can the VVV do the old Alesis verbs?

Babyaudio has a reverb with character, it's not an emulation afaik, forgot the name, though. Crystalline?
Arturia Intensity is special, too

Audiority do a couple of classic digital reverbs

Checkout this Youtube channel, he has some synths riffs on different reverbs, including Quadraverb.
To me it sounds like any digital reverb from that era can get you a similar sound.
The "character" you describe is basically a limitation of compute power and bits in early digital devices.
Early Lexicon devices can get you there, like the 224, which has plenty of emulations in a plugin form.

Korneff Audio has Micro Digital Reverberator which is based on the MIDIVerb and MIDIVerbII. It's IR-based [these reverbs didn't have modulation anyway] and is missing the Bloom algo. They're also apparently working on a pure algorithmic version with the Bloom algo at some point. My understanding is these are pretty much the same algorithms as in the Quadraverb (I have a GT version in the basement I haven't turned on since college).

I got these Midiverb 1 IRs: https://silent5.gumroad.com/l/otalu?layout=profile

They're offered for free but you can pay if you like.

hello ,im the developer of UBERVERB, its a reproduction of the midiverb 1,altough have some extras from the midifex and midiverb 2 like Bloom algo, there is also its little brother "Mu-verb" imo its the closest plugin to the quadraverb sound.

Did you try any of your stock DAW verbs. One or 2 of those usually suck hard, probably be perfect. LPF return between 8-13kHz for taste. It'll suck real good.

No Mac version though and doesn't sound like there's any realistic chance of one.

Not tried myself, but maybe Wave Alchemy or Liquidsonics has something of interest...

I’ve never heard of this developer, any good? This looks very interesting

I own it -- it's very good. Easy as pie to use, sounds great. Note that it's IR based, not algo. Korneff stuff seems top-notch in general, FWIW.

Only thing from that post above that I'm not sure of is the "these are pretty much the same algorithms as in the Quadraverb" -- I'm not sure that's true. I thought the Quadraverb had its own algos, independent from the Midiverb units. The Korneff plugin is a MIDIverb emulation, NOT a Quadraverb emulation.

As for whether those hardware algos are actually the same after all, maybe someone can chime in here who knows more about the original Alesis hardware.
