Changing Ample Guitar Screen Size In Studio One

I've just changed from Cakewalk where I've used Ample guitars for some years to Studio One 6.6. I can resize the Ample guitar screens in Cakewalk to fit my needs but can't figure out how to resize them in SO1. This makes it extremely difficult to use them, particularly to drag midi. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how to fix this? Thanks.

Window resizing by dragging has never been possible. Are you sure Cakewalk could do that?
There is a "scaling factor" option under display settings.

Post

Yes, I'm absolutely certain it is possible in Cakewalk. I just did it using my Les Paul, SJ, and Ric plugs and they all scaled perfectly. All that can be done in SO6 is to move the plug around the screen.

Must be some kind of clever Cakewalk feature then.
So did you find the scaling factor in the display settings and did that work for you?

Post

If you’re referring to the setting in Ampke, yes, it’s on the smallest setting - 100.

Post

So you want a smaller window? That is unusual. Most people want to scale up.
I guess Ample Sound did not take that into account.

Since I can't scale it, the Ample windows covers the majority of the S0 screen. I have to keep moving it off to the side in order to drag midi to the S0 instrument track. It's easy to do in Cakewalk. I scale the Ample screen smaller, just keeping the midi info visible, then drag it from there. That's how I still do it in S0 using my EZ instruments.

Best thing to do is to get a cheap used second HD monitor (I bought one for $20 recently) and then move that window to the second monitor.

Post

Thanks. I thought of that as I used to have two monitors, but I've since replaced them with one 48" screen. I don't have the room for a second monitor or any size.

I don't get it. You've got a huge monitor. That means the Ample Sound window should be tiny. Yet you say it covers the majority of the screen?

Post

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I have it at the smallest setting within Ample Sound, but the plugin covers the majority of the SO screen. I can drag it around the screen, but can't make it any smaller. There is nothing I can find or do to scale it in any way. So, I have to drag it way to one side to transfer a midi file to the SO screen, then drag it back in focus to go to the next midi file in AS, then drag it out of the way again. It's a real time waster, and a problem I never had in Cakewalk while using AS.

May I ask what is the resolution and the scaling factor of your SO screen?

I don't know. Since posting this, I've made a major change by getting rid of my 48 inch monitor and replacing it with two 32 inch ones. Now I can use both screens and easukt drag and drop, solving the problem.
