Hello,
I have a compressor in an MXXX chain and wish to feed that an external side chain, and while the side chain shows up correctly in MXXX meters, when I enable side chain on the MCompressor module inside, it won't use it. It still just processes using the main signal as if the side chain doesn't exist. All options (which is just one tbh) are enabled in the plugin...
What's going on here, how to I get side chain (external input) to work in Compressor within MXXX? It works outside of MXXX just fine but not from within.
I'm on the latest version of Ableton in case that matters.
Nevermind, it just works odd, but now there's no switch between using side chain or regular signal that can be attached to a multiparameter, so the whole point is moot anyway if it can't switch and use the sidechain filters, enable/disable, and monitor from a menu on the easy screen.
Proper documentation, extensive wiki, something with your plugins would be very useful. 150 pages of MXXX document and zero about how the side chain actually should be setup. Yes it's literally 2 clicks once you get it, but it takes a while of dicking around.
MXXX Side chain not working(?)

I'm glad you figured it out. You know, it's kinda difficult to document something so extensive and which is changing all the time.

I'd use your community to write it for you in a wikiMeldaProduction wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 10:31 am I'm glad you figured it out. You know, it's kinda difficult to document something so extensive and which is changing all the time.
Btw, I'm looking at the "Utility" tool within MXXX and it has an Expression option which seems to work with some cpp. Is there a document somewhere which variables contain what? Some functions are in the document, but nothing much about what can actually be done with it, i.e. does it has access to the amplitude of the signal (L and R) so I can do something like x=min(left, right)? If so, how does this signal arrive, I would assume in the range -1...1? Was trying to write some stereo processing but a little lost there

I was curious to see if this was possible, seems like it is. Maybe this could apply to your intended use?
It has switchable internal/external sidechain, with filters, and monitoring of the sidechain.
