Hi

In my opinion MCompressor is one of the best compressor plugins out there (not to mention it's free!) mainly because it's one of the very few that features a custom/editable compression curve. This makes MCompressor super powerful and versatile. And although it has all the standard parameters for a compressor plugin what I really miss is a simple Dry/Wet Mix knob. It's a suuuper useful feature and it would make MCompressor even more versatile.

So pleeease add a Dry/Wet Mix knob!

In case your request here doesn't get any traction, consider asking your DAW developer to add the feature. I use Reaper which has a little wet dry knob for every plugin window.
You might also consider trying MDynamics which has wet dry and also a Range control to set the maximum attenuation. Its useful for getting a somewhat similar, but different, effect.

end add GR in mxxx

How about using your compressor as a send/effect, that gives you all the mix control you might need. And yeah Reaper makes it way easy.

I'm a pro mastering engineer and MComp is my most used plugin compressor.

I agree, a mix knob is needed, all the other stuff suggested in this thread are unnecassary workarounds for something that should be in the plugin.

Every so often I pitch the features of my dream MeldaProduction compressor, MDeluxeCompressor. It will never happen; Vojtech has explicitly rejected the idea of adding another compressor to the line, but a guy can dream.

Features: From MCompressor, the much-loved dynamics display and the ability to design your own custom curves. From MModernCompressor, the front-facing access to the different detector modes such as psychoacoustic, and the Dry/Wet knob.

Price: $60 list/$30 Eternal Madness. It could also be part of the MEssentialsFX bundle.

The advantage that it would have over MDynamics is that the display and the detector modes would be on the main UI rather than 3 menus deep.

A workhorse compressor such as this wouldn't be the sexiest thing to announce, and it wouldn't be exciting to design, but what it would do is provide an easy upgrade path for people who love MCompressor (which has a surprisingly strong following) and want something with a few more features and the same elegantly simple UI.

I've posted on more than one forum about how MCompressor was the compressor that most helped me to understand how to set up a compressor (due to that display), and several people spoke up about how MCompressor did that for them as well.

Even just adding the ability to switch to the MCompressor dynamics display to MModernCompressor would make it my favorite compressor ever.

Try MDynamics is the same as MCompressor on steroids

I have MDynamics (I have MComplete bundle).

To get to those very important features (dynamics display, extended detector modes), the user must open multiple panels.

Chandler posted a YouTube video comparing all of the MeldaProduction compressors, mentioning the psychoacoustic detector mode in MDynamics.

Multiple commenters who had MDynamics were astonished to learn about this mode because it's hidden. MModernCompressor has access to psychoacoustic and other detector modes right on its front panel.

My first paid MeldaProduction product was MModernCompressor, which I expected expected to have all of the features I liked from MCompressor plus the odd histogram/automatic settings feature. I was disappointed to find out that it was lacking two of my favorite features: the ability to create my own custom compression/expansion curves and most of all, the dynamics display.

The only improvements I found over MCompressor were the mix knob and the psychoacoustic detector. If I had started with MDynamics, I would have missed it entirely because it's hidden. Hidden even more so now with the "devices."

But it's great, it does sound different from just "fast" or "normal" or "relaxed" attack detection. It's a cool feature that I've not seen anywhere other than MeldaProduction and I think it should be proud, front and center. Not something that the user stumbles upon halfway down an ADHD-driven rabbit hole.

That's why I think there's a big empty space in the product line between MCompressor and MDynamics that isn't filled by MModernCompressor.

MModernCompressor has the mix knob and fancy detector modes up front, but it drops the dynamics display in favor of that histogram thing (that none but a few seem to understand). It also doesn't let you create your own compression/expansion curves, which is another HUGE feature.

So either add the display and curves to MModernCompressor (which I also think would be great) or make a new middle-of-the-pack compressor.

I'm covered, I have MComplete, I just think it would be a great, well-selling product. MeldaProduction have a well-deserved reputation for complex UI's, but some people are intimidated by that and find it distracting.
