Hi Tokyo Dawn, I installed TDR Collector (Mac Sonoma, using option: only for this user) and de-selected all BUT the VST3 option and then pointed at custom folder /Library/Audio/Plug Ins/VST3/TDR/ and proceeded to try to use it to update.
The Collector application is smart enough to see what is in that selected folder. However, when installing updates, it ignores all the user choices for format and just drops VST, VST3, Component, and AAX plugins into their default locations. Seems like a bug. Certainly not expected behavior.
I double checked that my selections were still held in configuration. They are. Once I had rid myself of all those pesky other formats and moved the VST3s into their designated sub-folder, Collector did see them and stop prompting for further updates.

Oh yes, the mac installers currently ignore the setting (on windows it works as expected). But we'll fix this soon.

Thanks for responding Fabien. After first use, it appears to be well-designed and thought out, as all TDR offerings are. I didn't check all the configuration options, or can't recall the specifics, so maybe these are already in there, but as for features: I'd request access to release notes from the Collector interface and ability to hide any of the plugins from view. Izotope has a rather terrible installer, but that hide feature is one thing they do right.
