Lurssen Mastering Console - PAST/PRESENT/FUTURE

I've always ignored Lurssen since I already own T-RackS, but due to the $29 offer on Lurssen I started checking it out and I gotta say I'm impressed.
I don't mind the limitations - I actually like that it's so restricted and simple to use. I LOVE the EQ section (it's similar to the Kazrog 252, which I really like, in how it sounds and how easy it is to use. the automatic Qs behave very similarly and the bands are also not unequal - just the 60Hz and the 10KHz aren't strictly bell types in the Lurssen and the latter highly affects the midrange).
Also the fact that there's a phone app which can be used for small adjustments directly in the car is really cool - although it looks like the phone version is currently more expensive than the mac/PC version.
HOWEVER it looks like there have been NO updates in recent years and it doesn't run natively on newer systems. Has there been talk about an update? Or is this abandonware? I wouldn't want to spend even $29 (which is cheap - but there are several cheap things out there that will still be updated) on something I can't use on a future system.

that just doesn't change the fact that there is doubt that this will be updated to work natively on e.g. the new M4 Mac Mini (or even an M1 machine)
as I said.... I think it sounds pretty great. But since my current machine needs to be replaced REALLY soon, I was just pondering the question if it would make sense to purchase it at the current sales price (which it certainly would if there'd be a chance of an update, heck even an upgrade for that matter).
I have no hit record whatsoever and need to make sure not to purchase everything I like (meine Armut kotzt mich auch an, keine Sorge)

I have no Mac btw. I just know that it works on M1 because colleagues are using it.

So, I went to check it out and see no $29 offer (which was reported just a week ago, but it's $99 at the moment). Can anyone tell me how long it was on sale and speculate as to the possibility that we'll see that price again any time soon, like maybe during the Black Friday period? Or was it on sale at some third party site and can it still be had somewhere for $29?

I don't know the answer to that, but a lot of IK's products have been fairly cheap recently. I picked up Sampletank 4 Max for under £50 and I think T-Racks 5 Max was a similar price for a while. They might be vacuuming up new users in advance new product launches as I think there was just a new version of T-Racks. I'd expect to see it discounted again fairly soon, especially with Black Friday coming up. A lot of online retailers start their Black Friday deals around the end of October these days.

Depending on what you have from IK, what you want, and what you are prepared to spend, you could also keep your eye out for Total Studio 4 and Total Studio 4 MAX, at present you can get Total Studio 4 which contains LMC, plus a shit load of other stuff for $99.99.
I'd say you wouldn't have long to wait for LMC to return to the $29.99 price tag, between now and years end. It's a great piece of gear, I've had it since release. I use it mainly for a quick gooderizer for various reasons. Haven't and probably wouldn't use it for the final, not saying you couldn't, because I believe you could. It sounds excellent and holds itself well with other similar type plugins, most of which I also own.

I use LMC a lot. Its a great tool. I hope they update it. It's a great learning tool also to learn the FX chain of pro mixing mastering engineers for different musical styles. I hope they update it for TR6 interoperability.
