https://www.synthtopia.com/content/2024 ... -nov-15th/ There's news on Synthtopia about Phasemistress Phaseshifter free through November 15th. It happens to be the most extensible phaser in the plugin industry. I love it and own it already. Requires iLok though, BTW.

"the most extensible phaser " - what does that even mean?

Has fuckloads of different timbres?
But it's true, it is an incredibly diverse phaser. The different algorithms/styles, of which there are something like 30-40, cover a lot of territory, from sheer and glassy to . . . Seriously can't think of another adjective but the things free so get it! It can be deployed nicely as a mix tool if you want to Carve some space in an instrument- turn the modulation off and hone in. Annoyingly small gui but the sound is great.
Kinda annoyed that I paid for it a couple of months ago. But that's how the game is played.

It has easily more features than all the other phasers available currently in 2024 with multiple accessible menu's & a range of phaser "type". It emulates lots of types. It's great with Omnisphere 2.

mkay - I don't think extensible means what you think it means...

i suspect the more appropriate word would be 'flexible'
Set Theory claim:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate.
Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

These are merely presets for the "Style Edit"-section's 7 parameters (four of which are dichotomic).swilow11 wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 9:14 am The different algorithms/styles, of which there are something like 30-40

I have a hunch he meant "extensive" (i.e. "the phaser with the most extensive feature-set")...

well its effectively a portmanteau of the two of them, so maybe.

iLok for a plugin that is normally sold for money, but is free for 2 weeks, after which it will be sold for money again. Take it or leave it, no? (I guess many will leave it, I already paid cash money for it)

Machine authentication is what I use. Free. When an HD went south, ST replaced my lost license for free. Nobody punished me at all.Lerian wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:13 pm So basically not free, at least not for us who don't want to pay anything to companies that punish legit users for something that they didn't do.

Happy for you. But I live by different values. And creating annoyance and useless cpu/ram usage to customers is not a value I believe in. Especially when its proved that it doesn't actually protect anyone from anything. The only real outcome that ilok have is inconvenience and frustration for the customers.revvy wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:28 pm Machine authentication is what I use. Free. But, as I said, I'm happy for you. Enjoy your effects. There are just plenty of options for me not to go anywhere near ilok. There's no "secret sauce" that only one plugin can have. They all do more or less the same thing. Its what's between the ears that counts.
