Micro Sampler turns Waveform into a memory hog

I have a project template with about six instances of Micro Sampler on Tracktion Waveform 13 Free, and I've noticed that it took longer to load the template with them than without them. I decided to investigate why this was happening so I looked at task manager. Waveform occupies well over 4GB of RAM while loading the template and deleting the instances reduces the amount of memory used down to less than 1GB. I don't have any synth or Kontakt in the template, only light third party effect plugins from plugin alliance and kilohearts.
I made sure that I carried this out while the system had just started and only windows applications and processes (Microsoft edge was diasbled) were running in the background without an internet connection. Why is this a concern? The template crashed Waveform several times due to insufficient memory. My system is Windows 10 Pro 22H2 with 8GB of RAM.
Is it just me or has anyone else faced the same issue.

Sample libraries are problematic if you don't have the memory for them; and worse if you have a slower disk. Projects seem to have to load a part of the sample library (for the current patch(es) being used); and even afterwards if you have, say, a piano patch playing delicately and you start playing another region or a greater intensity, you may get pauses while alternate sample sets are loaded.

Can you try loading that library in sforzando plugin if the library is in sfz format? It handles libraries better than Waveform's microsampler

I'm not loading any libraries; it's just the default stock empty Micro Sampler plugin doing that. The amount of memory I have is fine, plus Windows and Waveform run on an SSD. Unfortunately, the samples I wish to trigger are WAV files, not in sfz format.

Did a quick check in 13 Pro. Both Samplers, both Drum Samplers and the Rompler all seem to use approx 0.7 GB of ram to load, empty. Six instances use around 4.5 GB of ram.
