Addictive Drums 2 - Aftertouch not doing anything to choke cymbals

Hi, I have AD2 set up as default. In Logic if I enter a cymbal, say Crash 1 crash, then add aftertouch data afterwards, the crash just rings out, there is no choking going on.

Ideas how to get aftertouch working properly?

Ok, I now see I need to use Poly Aftertouch. But I see it accomplishes a sudden choke. I thought if I sent say poly aftertouch value 0 then a beat later poly after touch 127 that there would be gradual choke, similar to how EZ Drummer uses aftertouch for choking. Am I just not doing something correctly?
