Any chance mid/side mode could be added to apshaper? Sometimes it's useful to apply clipping to just one or the other.

At the moment you can do this "manually" in Ableton by creating an Audio Rack to split the signal into Mid & Side channels and then just applying plugins to the Side channel, but then apshaper's Spectrum and Signal readouts are totally blank (I'm assuming because they're hard coded to show the sum of L & R or something like that), so you can't see the waveform to visualise what the plugin is doing.

I tried this in Ableton and you're right - the graphs don't show anything. This is because the Ableton Utility plugin in m-s mode creates a mirrored side-signal and it does sum to 0. I guess they did that to make later summing easier, but the right thing to do would be two mono instances processing m and s separately. Unfortunately Ableton does not support mono rendering at all so this will probably never happen.
I do guess you could make it work with a different wrapper. Maybe one can actually do dual mono internally - that would be best for performance. I'll also look into doing something in apShaper in the future. The UI definitely won't allow to do m and s at the same time, but maybe I can add "m" and "s" modes that only affect one of the two for stereo instances.
