Question about Tempo Track to freely played tracks

I am working on a project where I have created a tempo track to a freely played song.
I want to cut a section of the song and paste it into another spot in the timeline. When I do this, I want the cut section to include the data from the tempo track, so things will remain smooth and synced up with the click after I paste it in. If I simply copy that section on the timeline, the tempo track data doesn't seem to be included, so my question is- how can I make that happen? Thanks!
