Hello,

I have empty edit opened (just few empty tracks, nothing more), fullscreen WQHD, Geforce GT 1030. Scrolling tracks vertically is very sluggish and GPU renderer is hitting top usage during scroll. Never happened with OpenGL, software renderer works smoothly. Using latest 13.3.11 version. I tried various 3D settings in nvidia panel, no help. Is there any specific GPU option which would solve the problem?

Thanks,
Krzysiek

To my knowledge the developers are working on the Direct2D renderer on Windows to improve it (viewtopic.php?t=618069), and you may experience the reason for their motivation to do so.
Meanwhile, just use the software renderer, and according to also your confirmation above, that option works fine.
For curiosity, I might never have faced the requirement and therefore am blind towards this, is there a reason why you would need essentially Direct2D, a situation where the software renderer isn't sufficient, why not stick with this setting if it is working smoothly?

I assumed Direct2D support is already in mature stage, thanks for clarification. Anyway, indeed software renderer never let me down, but since GPU is definitely busy when repainting larger area, I am affraid this process may also have some impact on CPU which I would preffer to be focussed as much as possible on audio processing.

Not really a clarifiation as I do not know how mature it is.
I only saw that it was only recently introduced and conclude that this means they are working on it.
