Two major issues with Waveforum

Here's what I am attempting to do. I record a cover song as a mono wave file. Very simple song. JJCale Clyde.
I find the approximate tempo. 95 BPM
I split into stems.
I line the 1st down beat up with measure 3, The next downbeats are very close but of course they wander. I need a tempo map.
I use the drum track as my source.
I try the Groove doctor. Following instructions and a video. It results in a tempo map that wanders from 44 BPM to 226 BPM. Tried a couple of other songs , same results. Re Watched the video.
So that didn't work and I just dragged the drum track into Melodyne stand alone and it created a tempo map that wanders around 94-101 BPM. I export this and drag it to the project and this is totally successful.
Next I want to convert the Bass stem into a midi track.
This I figured out involves opening Melodyne etc. Easy.
But the Midi track seems to be playing Totally out of sync. It rushes ahead.
I have done all this in Sonar a hundred times without this issue.
Please tell me it's a setting.
Or is Waveform the same as Mixcraft where this was also a total failure?
