Hey,
I´m new to music production and still have to learn a lot, but my goal is to produce organic, melodic house, maybe some melodic techno as well. I am a violinist and in the end I would love to add also the violin (in the production but most of all I wanna play live). Already bought some MIDI controllers (launchpad and launch control) and have to learn how to use those too.
anyway in many tutorials about making organic house and also after researching I have the impression that DIVA is a very widely used synth for this kind of music. what do you think? (I wanna buy some first plugins but I wanna chose wisely since I dont wanna spend too much already). thanks

The reason diva is so popular is because it convincingly emulates the behavior of analog synthesizers from the late 70s/early 80s. This results in a rich sound with a lot of pleasing detail.
That said, my honest advice picking a first synth is to use your ears and audition a bunch of presets. Try tweaking the knobs a bit (if you don't know what you are doing, start with the filter cutoff knobs) until you fall in love with one. All of the u-he synths have very generous demo versions where you can access everything it offers. I recommend trying Hive 2 in addition to Diva. While it doesn't have the same depth of analog emulation it's lighter on CPU and offers a more modern feature set (wavetables, a tonne of modulators and a matrix to route them).
