so,
when i click ad drag a mute button onto its track there's no automation track created
when i click ad drag a (rack) volume fader onto its track - or into the timeline there's no automation track created
how to created such automation?
i want to automate an audio stream so it doesn't start to sound from the beginning and i also want to mute it halfway through

In general: To automate a parameter drag-drop its name label on the + track button.
Now as some parameter sliders/knobs don't have an explicit name label, eg a rack's volume fader, you can right-click that parameter slider/knob -> Drag Parameter and the drag starts and you can drop it wherever you want, eg. on the + track button.
Indeed this does not yet work for the rack Mute button. Until there would be a similar solution for that you can create a new automation track for the rack volume and change the automation clip's "Envelope Target" (in the clip property box at the bottom-left of the composer) to "Mute".
