Can we have 64bit internal processing?

I was just testing few plugins to see how many bit they internally process, and i see Melda plugins are 32 bit, tested with bitter from Stilwell.
Is it possible somehow to change it to 64 or is a kind of feature request that can be taken into consideration?

Thanks

What would be the practical benefit? I ruthlessly process audio and never have a problem with noise. Is there any other benefit?

The obvious downside is that it'll be twice the CPU hit.

It's more about distortion with automation, and that's something i notice a lot with certain plugins while it's way more cleaner with others.
Audio is also processed as blocks and a more precice interpolation can create smoother transition instead of steps between each.

I don't know how much it change the CPU, if will be twice, i'm all in for a global option where everyone can decide. Melda plugins are light enough but i get some may use very old machines, that's why a global option where people can choose from is a good deal.

Are you experiencing distortion with automation? If so, take a look at the settings for the plug-ins.

Make sure that Sample-accurate event processing is enabled and then take a look at the Smart Interpolation setting.

From what I understand, these settings exist to address that issue. I've never set them to anything but the defaults, which are with sample-accurate event processing enabled and smart interpolation set to High.

I just checked and sample accurate event processing is enabled, about the smart interpolation when i happens i just be sure to select the higher option

Are you using VST3 and a DAW that supports sample accurate automation?

Yes vst3 with Reaper. I will do and share few tests when i have some free time.

Try to compare automation with internal modulation. If the issue is only with automation, it's probably not because of the floating point precision.

Some things cannot be automated without distortions or artifacts. It's just the nature of how those effects work.

Sorry, won't happen. It would be more than 2x slower, would require countless manhours to reimplement everything and the benefit will be pretty much 0. Right now, everything that needs 64-bit is done in 64-bit and vice versa. Best of both worlds...
