Oddities

Hi Ben,
Reporting some oddities:
All the Anemond (VST3 and AU, dBdone products (VST3 and AU), Access Virus Editor (VST3 only, AU is fine), Battery (VST3 only, AU is fine) and BlueARP (VST3 only, AU is fine) seem to be misreporting their version and are up to date. Would be great to "Hide these until next version" if the only other fix is dependent on the developer.
RaveGenerator 3 is a new major version and is up to date. I see KVR SM supports major versions now, so Database entry might want updating in this case.
All the BirdBird entries are referring to the 1.0.5 beta release. I'd prefer an option to either hide Beta releases or "Hide these until next version".
Stereo Tool has two versions - free 1.0 and patreon 1.1p (presumably). I have the free version.
Manipulator 1.4.9 is the latest release. KVR SM reporting an update is available to 3.133.0. There is no such version. VST3 is 1.4.9, AU is 1.4.8, misreporting a version, would be great to "Hide these until next version" if the only other fix is dependent on the developer.
SoftTube entries have no such updates available in SoftTube Central. Perhaps a beta?
Hope that helps.
Thanks

I'll check these out.All the Anemond (VST3 and AU, dBdone products (VST3 and AU), Access Virus Editor (VST3 only, AU is fine), Battery (VST3 only, AU is fine) and BlueARP (VST3 only, AU is fine) seem to be misreporting their version and are up to date. RaveGenerator3.clap reports 1.3.0RaveGenerator 3 is a new major version and is up to date. I see KVR SM supports major versions now, so Database entry might want updating in this case.
RaveGenerator3.component reports 1.0.2
RaveGenerator3.vst3 reports 3.2.1.440 (macOS) / 3.2.1.451 (Windows)
A bit of a mess. I've put overrides in for each format, but they should all report the same number really
The downloads at www.birdsthings.com include a changelog that says 1.0.5. I've set the version back to 1.0.4 as that's what the plugins report. The beta, according to syncs, is 1.4.0.All the BirdBird entries are referring to the 1.0.5 beta release. I'd prefer an option to either hide Beta releases or "Hide these until next version".
I've removed the p from the version number.Stereo Tool has two versions - free 1.0 and patreon 1.1p (presumably). I have the free version.
This is now fixed (some AUs are reporting 3.133.0, we're investigating)Manipulator 1.4.9 is the latest release. KVR SM reporting an update is available to 3.133.0. There is no such version. Thanks Ben, all the ones mentioned as fixed seem to be resolved except RaveGenerator AU
Air MultiBand FilterBank popped up today, confirmed latest installed with their downloader
Only ones remaining that you're already looking at are the Anemond, Objeq, Access Virus Editor, dBdone, Battery and BlueArp.
Appreciate the development work and support!

RaveGenerator should now be syncing correctlyThanks Ben, all the ones mentioned as fixed seem to be resolved except RaveGenerator AU

Anemond and dBdone plugins all report v1.0.0 and Objeq Delay reports 1. We can either mark them as unsupported or try to get the developers to update their plugins so that they report the accurate version number rather than 1.0.0.

Battery showing up correctly is actually incorrect. The available update (4.3.1) that was listed before is actually the most recent version. The VST3 plugin reports 4.3 instead, so it appears to be an older version.
Many plugins do not report their version numbers correctly. Correcting the available update, as is done for Battery, doesn't seem right.
It would be helpful if we could adjust the version number ourselves. It may only change when the number the plugin reports changes. Otherwise, we would have to make corrections after each scan.
So, in case of Battery, I would change it to 4.3.1, and as long as Battery reports 4.3, that 4.3.1 is used for comparisons.
Another option would be to mark these kinds of plugins with an option other than 'Exclude' or 'Hide', so they can be grouped separately.

Confirmed, all of the ones resolved seem to be resolved. Would be great if the developers fixed their version reporting, might be worth a shot if that doesn't get anywhere then marking them as unsupported might be a good option.Ben [KVR] wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:08 pmRaveGenerator should now be syncing correctlyThanks Ben, all the ones mentioned as fixed seem to be resolved except RaveGenerator AU

Here's another couple.
BL Chroma VST3 is a 32bit version, AU scans but misreports version. Hammer & Meißel VST3 fails to scan, AU scans but misreports version.

I like that idea. Battery's latest VST3 release is 4.3.1, just the plugin version is misreporting.Rivanni wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:36 pm Battery showing up correctly is actually incorrect. The latest installer installs 6.2.4 AU (albeit "beta").BL Chroma VST3 is a 32bit version, AU scans but misreports version.

The dev manages their PDB listings. I guess they need to update the version string in the plugin.Hammer & Meißel VST3 fails to scan, AU scans but misreports version.

Native Access installs 4.3.1 but it misreports itself as 4.3. Until 4.3.x comes out setting it to 4.3 means users won't be told they are out of date.Sekops wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 9:34 pmI like that idea. I've raised an Issue with the dev's Github for Hammer & Meißel

The developer of Hammer & Meißel confirmed the ß char was causing the failed scan in KVR SM.
I've asked if they will also fix version misreporting.
