BestService.com has been down for 3 days. What's Going On?

I'm a longtime customer, and the BestService.com site has been down for, I believe, three straight days now. It states that there is hardware maintenance, but no communication from the company about the site, and being down three days, it looks like Best Service just went out of business.
Can someone from your company provide an update of what's going on and if and when your site might be back online? Thanks.

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

@Aloysisus Yes, that stock message has been on their home page for three -- soon to be four -- days. If it was 2 or 3 hours of maintenance, that would be understandable, not what is now approaching 4 days.
FTR, I've been in digital -- managing and leading it at major brands and run a dot com, as well as writing and public speaking on it around the world for a long time. An e-commerce business doesn't simply suddenly -- without notice -- go down for maintenance for a full day -- let alone 4 days. Even more, if they were doing maintenance, they would have given partners and customers a heads up prior to that maintenance.
I'm a Best Service affiliate -- I have a passion project site that I'm helping fund with their affiliate program. Their affiliate manager, who is normally responsive, hasn't responded during this time (of course, their email server could be down...but again, that would be odd to do all at once without notifying partners in advance). Consequently, my knowledge and experience in this space leads me to question if either (1) Best Service has been hacked and been unprepared with solid backups and processes and now have a serious problem, or (2) Best Service is closing its doors.

I need to login to download a plugin I bought from them and just discovered the site is down. No indication on their website or social media as to how long the outage will be: https://x.com/bestservicenews

For the weekend I was still kind of hopeful cause as german company there is usually not much work on weekend but as it is still down now on monday (and usually the new sales are up early) this fatally reminds me how time and space had been gone.....really hope I am wrong, but server updates over nearly a WEEK now ?

I run a small community site for musicians and producers and have been chronicling their site being down in a thread there. It has been 6 days. Being down 6 days for an e-commerce site is obviously a very big deal, but when you combine it with their really just having auto posts in their social media outlets (everybody schedules posts in advance these days, even the smallest e-commerce businesses), it's concerning. I have several hundred dollars in unredeemed plugins, sample libraries, and a DAW (Studio Pro One), so I am kicking myself for not picking those up (they date back to Black Friday) and hoping that they're not closing their doors. At this point, it's a bit hard to believe that this is merely maintenance. Maintenance—even -- even server upgrades -- would never take anything approaching this long. If it was properly planned and executed, it easily would be completed with an hour or less of downtime. But, even in the worst-case scenario, I could never imagine server maintenance taking anything remotely close to 6 days.
Something more is going on here and the lack of communication is not a good course of action. Let's say that have some situation with a vendor doing the job and needed to replace them, they should be communicating honestly with customers and partners. Right now, customers and partners are in a state of limbo, and with the absence of communications, it only appears more likely that the company is going under. I would urge Best Service to communicate, even if the news is that we're having serious problems and are uncertain when the site will be back up, but our business is stable (if that is true). Ideally, you should be providing an estimate of when you expect the site to be back online.

absolutely. Keeping everyone in the dark while posting deals on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram is certainly not a good way to communicate.eDrummist wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 11:04 am Something more is going on here and the lack of communication is not a good course of action. Those posts were clearly auto-scheduled long ago, as their site is down, as it makes no sense to put up a bunch of non-functioning links to a dead site. Online retailers commonly use social media management apps like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, etc. to schedule social media posts far in advance (my business does too). My guess is that those posts were scheduled before the month started and someone hadn't gone into them to turn them off. Which it appears they eventually did.FakeNatty wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 1:14 pm absolutely. I don't know why Best Service isn't communicating on their socials, but according to their post in another forum, they are working on getting the site back up and have stated that customer data has not been compromised.
" “…your Best Service User Accounts and associated licenses have not been impacted by this technical incident. Thanks again for your patience.”
Once again, I wish Best Service was doing a better job communicating to the public and its affiliate partners. They've always been really solid and I wish them well. It's difficult for any business to deal with a crisis like this, but clear, and regular communications with the public should be imperative in situations like this.
I've been following the situation with my community (LinkedMusicians), if anyone wants to keep abreast of the situation, as I may not updating this thread anymore, and it doesn't appear that Best Service will be responding to this thread or communicating in their forum here.
