I wonder if anyone can help me.

I want to import a Midifile that has many parts n different MIDI channels, but when I import it to T all the different parts are `melded`into one clip. Is there any way I can separate the different MIDI channels out?

thanks for any help you can give

Hrm... that's interesting... whenever I've imported MIDI, it's divided it up into different parts...?

Sorry I'm no help... at least I can bump the thread for you, though. ;)

I know Tracktion can accept multiple midi clips--Slicy Drummer for example can be told to export midi files as single or multi to Tracktion. Works fine for me. Maybe you could find a program that takes your midi files and can export them to Tracktion? (Rather than using the Tracktion import).

Just a thought; probably just babble. :D

Maybe it has something to do with different MIDI file types? There's MIDI File 0 and MIDI File 1. One of them puts all tracks into a single one (MIDI channels are separated in the messages themselves), the other one splits tracks ... aargh - can't tell you exactly which is the right one...

Try Google!?

[EDIT]
Found a small program to check this out:

There you can find a "Midi File Converter". Warning: Untested! Don't know the quality of this software.
