Ample Sound updated Ample Guitar to v4.01, covering 14 guitar virtual instruments: AGLP, AGSC, AGPF, AGTC, AGSH, AGVC, AGRB, AGM, AGT, AGL, AG12, AGSJ, AME and AMH:
  • Fixed issues caused by macOS permission restrictions that could prevent dragging or exporting MIDI from Riffer, or saving Riff files.
  • Restored the UI Scale feature — the interface can now be scaled from 50% (half size) to 200% (double size).
  • Fixed a tuning file issue that occurred when multiple instances of the same product were loaded in a DAW with different sample libraries.
  • Fixed a crash issue in Studio One that could occur when switching guitars and performing an Undo operation in Riffer.
  • Fixed an issue where certain notes could not be triggered in Fifth/Octave play modes for the lowest or highest notes.
  • When clicking on the keyboard on the left side of the Riffer piano roll for preview, the note will now be triggered prioritizing the current position.
This update is free for all existing users.

Massive THANK YOU for that from my side, too!

I'm honestly impressed, didn't expect by any means you could make resizing both ways possible that fast! Amazing job, thanks a lot to the AmpleSound team! This makes usage for everyone much more comfortable :tu:

Ample guitars are my favourite guitar vsts. And the riffer v4 is a joy to program. I have a question: i noticed that the "stroke" vol button in the strum engine is now global? It also effects the riffer tab etc. This change i like very much!

Also thanks from my side for the fast reimplementation of the scale feature. I appreciate that very much.

Yes, that’s correct — the Stroke Volume knob on the Strummer interface now controls the global strumming noise volume across all modules, including Riffer.

Hang on. I do everything in the piano roll and I use the A5, A#5, B5 and C6 keys for stroke noises. To control the volume I like to simply adjust their velocity.

Are you telling me that I now need to go into the Strummer interface, which I never use, to set the volume for these keys?

Post

I don't think this is actually new; I NEVER use Strummer and ONLY ever use Riffer, and Strummer's stroke volume knob has always controlled the stroke volume in Riffer. If the notes in Riffer were actually input as chords and not just notes (meaning you put in a chord on the bottom line of Riffer), the stroke volume was always controlled by Strummer's stroke volume knob.

Post

the velocity of A5–C6 can control the Stroke Noise volume, and the Stroke Noise knob also affects the overall volume.
The final volume = Velocity × Knob value.

you’re right — Sorry, I remembered incorrectly earlier. The Stroke Noise knob has always controlled the global noise volume since the very first version.
What’s new in Riffer 4 is that the Release knob on the Strummer now globally controls the release length of Strum Notes in Riffer as well.

Thanks for this quick update. Any chance MPE support is coming soon?

I've installed the 4.01 update for the les paul.
I also want to install the 4.01 update for eclipse, but I can't find it.
There are no changes to the sound libraries right?
So there's no need to reinstall those?

Post

The Les Paul sound library now includes a finger-picked library; the Metal Eclipse has no new samples added.

I am not sure where to send in a suggestion, but this post seems to be a good starting point.
When the CC editor is visible, it would be nice if the SHAPE option bar was above the CC area. I am fine with it covering the fx row. Or, better yet, make it a movable item within the area or the Riffer. Thank you.

In Riffer 4, when I set my chords and try to add notes to arpeggiate the chord, it always adds open string notes instead of the chord notes. If I strum it works fine, but not when adding notes.

Bug, by design, or am I misunderstanding?
