hallo
I have a synth whose filter does not respond to velocity but only to CC volume
I can't find this option in the converters, would it be possible to add it? or did I miss it?
thank you :tu:

Use a Note To Modulation's module green output 2 (Velocity) and connect that to the green input of a MIDI Controller Generator which is set to CC 7 Volume, then connect the blue out of the CC 7 Generator to that synth plugin.

Attached a draft example project that demonstrates it using a Basic Synth that have been made velocity insensitive.

NB: Pls ignore the icon on the converter module, that needs improvement.

just great !!!!! thank you

NB: Of course you can save that Converter + CC Generator combi as a MUX preset for quick reuse at other places.

I still find having to go through three modules to do what a "MIDI event rewrite" module could be able to do is rather cumbersome. It's also not easy to say, remap the velocity of a note within a narrow range to cover a full range (e.g. C3 velocity 1 to 31 to remap to C3 velocity 1 to 127). Things like that should be simple with more emphasis on the MIDI event processing suite.

What's wrong with building such MUX once, save it as a preset, and reuse the MUX preset as it it's a single module/plugin?

Post

Because it needs more explanation and documentation. MIDI is pretty standard. A tool that just edits MIDI events isn't hard to understand. It doesn't warrant conversion from MIDI event to something that isn't a MIDI event, then back again, just because editing the MIDI event in place isn't possible. That's a shortcoming.

Note sure i fully understand your point.
Lets use the above OP request + my solution as a concrete example:
If that MUX preset would have a front panel where you can select the MIDI CC etc, then would that be an answer to your point? Because then there really would be no difference at all with a single module, right?
