When you select a clip the red select bar slightly squashes the clip vertically. Could this change to not change the height of the wave form? (the red select bar would simply overlay the wavform)
Not sure what the disadvantages of the change would be but the advantage, though only small, would be that when you select a clip you can change it's gain setting and 'see' how it changes in relation to other clips that are not selected.
I'm quite often setting the rough gain of a set of clips visualy but this gets a little tricky when you can't compare the direct visuals.
Infact the ability to turn off clip names would be useful too.
