Hi MuTools,
I discovered MuLab the other day and I am absolutely blown away by 2 features in particular:
- that everything is a patch within a patch
- the gui builder
I've tried practically every other DAW that has visual programming interface (as well as Benny, PureData, MaxMSP, TouchDesigner, Reaktor, variuos VST hosts, etc) and if I had known about MuLab earlier I would have most likely tried to switch to using it for my current use case.
So massive respect for pulling these 2 incredible features as well as you have!
My use case is using the laptop as part of a single live instrument/setup (similar to Autechre's giga Max patches & Tim Exile's flow machine) along with a Digitakt 2 and an OTO Bebe Cherie to perform live (not just to launch clips but as an actual improvisation framework/instrument).
As I get into using MuLab in this way I will make forum posts with the constraints I encounter and some suggestions on how to address them (if it makes sense relative to the rest of the backlog). I understand it's one person behind this project and it blows my mind that so much is done as well as it is.
Quickly about me: I was a product manager for 5+ years, I coded front-end in JavaScript for 5+ years, I co-founded a couple startups in musich tech, I am a Bitwig certified trainer, occasionally I write Bitwig controller scripts for myself, I play live + organize ambient music events in Berlin and Sao Paulo.
Thanks so much for making this epic piece of software!
A HUGE appreciation post! & a quick intro
