Hello,
I am new to Wavform and trying to get my Spd-sx-pro setup so I can jam on the pad and hear my audio through USB.
I can select the Spd-sx-pro as an audio device using ASIO and can hit the pad but I can't hear anything on my headphones. If I record I can see the input from the pad laying down a track. If I play it back I get nothing.
If I go back to audio devices and then switch back to "Windows audio" I can then play back the track and hear it. If I want to use the pad again I have to go back to audio devices and select the ASIO device and then I can play the pad but not hear anything.
I can not believe this is how it's supposed to work. How can I have my SPD-sx-pro as an audio device and still hear it on my PC at the same time?
Play and listen to my Audio device at the same time? Spd-sx-Pro

Possibly when you use your Spd-sx-pro you also have it as the monitor device, in Tracktion Waveform go to "Settings" to select the audio device and select Spd-sx-pro as input and your device where you have your headphones/speakers connected in as output, make sure the monitor device has it own ASIO driver installed, else, you can install the ASIO4ALL universal driver to pair both devices.ordenrahl wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 10:06 pm Hello,

Please note that I am basing this on assumptions I have to make, since I don't know anything specific about your device and also I am assuming that it is your intention to listen back using something other than the SPD-sx-pro.ordenrahl wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 10:06 pm I can not believe this is how it's supposed to work. Waveform doesn't really separate input devices from output devices. It would require specialty driver software to be able to have one device being recorded while another device plays back. So it's almost certain that Waveform is playing back audio through the SPD-sx-pro when it is recording it. If that's something that the device can do.
I can't give you any advice on how to use two devices at once in the way you'd like to. I think Macs can do it easily. I think some other DAWs allow you to do it. I think there is specialty software that combines devices.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

You can pair two different ASIO devices with the ASIO4ALL universal generic driver, here is the link at https://asio4all.orgpough wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 8:54 pmPlease note that I am basing this on assumptions I have to make, since I don't know anything specific about your device and also I am assuming that it is your intention to listen back using something other than the SPD-sx-pro.ordenrahl wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 10:06 pm I can not believe this is how it's supposed to work.
