Post

I’ve been a Uhbik user for years, but one thing always bugged me:
there’s no way to save an entire *effect chain* as a single preset.

So I built it.

Uhbik Wrapper is a free, open-source, Reason-Combinator-style VST3 host
that lets you chain multiple effects and save the whole rack as one preset.
Works with Uhbik *and* any other VST3
effects

✨ Features
• Unlimited VST3 effects in series
• Save/load full chains with metadata (author, tags, notes)
• Preset browser shows which plugins each preset uses
• Sidechain passthrough (Presswerk-friendly)
• DAW automation: gain, mix, + 8 macro controls
• Rack-style UI (Edit / Bypass / Remove per effect)
• UI zoom 100–300%

💻 Platforms
Linux, Windows, macOS
VST3 + AU

Post

It brought a smile to my face when I read the motivation behind the development. It proves that right motivation with proper skill can bring some interesting ideas to life. Thanks for sharing this.

Why Build one? In Unify 2 you can setup your effect chain and save it.

There are multiple 'solutions' but the urge to build something is often because they don't work in the way you would like and/or they cost money when you have the skills to create your own.

Why was Unify written when other solutions existed ? Maybe purely for commercial gain, but likely because it didn't work in the way the creators wanted.

This is great to see, and very welcome as both an alternative and also a creative endeavour

The fact that it's also Open Source, that others can learn from it, is awesome.

Nice idea - Is it possible to add CLAP support please?

Post

Maybe we can add CLAP support... not sure... depends on workload and stuff from next Spring.

I have a thread open on Unify. I have not checked recently, but Unify could not go in the effects section, making it difficult to route the effects chain. Yes I could save a preset but it did not lend itself to creating a library for Uhbik which is where this came from.

That's not 100% true.
In Reaper I put Unify into a track and setup a unify layer as AUDIO IN, then I insert the master effects for example an Uhbik delay then an UHBIK distortion.
After this, I Create another track in Reaper, load a Kontakt piano in it, then set this track routing to send the audio to the Unify track.
After this, UNIFY acts as an effect.
Of Course it's in Reaper, where routing is dead simple, and every track can be a midi track or an audio track....

- Added CLAP version.
- Release v0.1.5
I don't have an apple code signing certificate and there are instructions in the Readme on the repo to take it out of quarantine.

I have not tested windows yet.

Thanks, can it also host CLAP now too?

Not yet.

That was a little more I involved than I thought.

I'll get back on that.

... I am having a hard time with the CLAP implementation. I am pulling that back for now. I'll work on it.

Very cool!

A suggestion for the road map if I may: a few global LFO's/modulators that can be bound to the macro knobs.
