I have a question about BC Connector.
I use it on a Mac between Studio One Pro and Logic Pro.
a. In Studio One Pro:
1. I create a track with an instrument plugin (any one will do),
2. I insert BC Connector, I set BC Connector to the ‘send’ function -> localhost (port 8080)
3. I send the MIDI to the BC Connector plugin.
b. In Logic Pro:
1. I create a track with an instrument.
2. I insert MIDI BC Connector as a MIDI effect and set it to ‘receive’ from localhost.
3. I insert a second BC Connector into the ‘audio insert zone’ and set it to send back to Studio One -> localhost (port 8081).
c. In Studio One Pro:
1. I insert a second BC Connector plugin on the same track with ‘receive from’ localhost (port 8081).
Everything works fine. Just like a classic instrument track: I record the MIDI and play it back on the same track. Everything is fine.
BUT!
I cannot freeze this instrument track in Studio One. It's impossible. The resulting track is silent.
The only solution is to render a mix and place it on a new track.
Is there a smart way to handle this like a traditional instrument track?
For example, the VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 or 8 plugin can handle this without any problems.
Even on another PC/Mac server.
Does Blue Cat Audio have any plans to release an ‘instrument’ version of BC Connector?
Thanks.

For the moment it is indeed not possible. The reason is that Connector is designed for realtime streaming, so it currently does not support offline processing (except in the "application" mode, which can be synchronous because it is dealing with a single app).
Because you can connect to different endpoints for send/return and create complex paths which are not "just" send/return, it is pretty hard to implement such a feature as is.
