Hey all, got a little more time to mess around with Waveform and Linux
These are just my personal experiences.
I'm doing the tests on an older Lenovo T440p Laptop that has been upgraded to Intel i7 core cpu, 16 Gig ram, 1tb ssd, and 1080p screen.
Behringer UMC 204HD using the ALSA driver and Onboard Audio using ALSA pipewire server, 512 buffer size for tests

Latest version of Waveform runs great and stable on this system.
What has worked for me:
1. Ubuntu 25.10 worked with out having to install anything else (24.04 needed other stuff installed to work but after that worked fine) everything with 25.10 has been smooth sailing with Waveform and Reaper. (I use Reaper just to cross check what works and what doesn't or to troubleshoot)

2. Just for testing i tried the latest Linux mint Xfce and latest Zorin Os, Zorin os caused cpu spikes in Waveform and was barely usable, Linux mint Xfce was defiantly better but none of these 2 were as good as stock Ubuntu 25.10, the other distros caused weird cpu spikes and didnt run as smooth.

3. The posted beta of Waveform (13.5.25) for me has fixed the blank white GUI for the native free MT Power drum kit II plugin, it now works as expected. so great job fixing this.
One thing that is not working with the MT Power drum kit II plugin is dragging the midi patterns from the plugin onto a track in Waveform, nothing happens, I tried it in Reaper and it works as expected. So not sure if this is a Waveform problem or the Plugin?

Other than that so far everything else seems to work good for me, all the Waveform built in plugins and Waveform itself seem to be smooth and stable.

It's cool having some of these cool Tracktion Instruments and Waveform running native in linux, and some of the Tracktion vsts work in Reaper as well.

Hope someone fines this info useful, I'll keep testing,
Thanks for the betas and fixing stuff Waveform team!

Great info, I'm using WF13.5.25 beta in Ubuntu Studio 24.04 and with Pipewire-Jack plugin the CPU spikes and Xruns are very high, with Pipewire-ALSA works a little better but sometimes the audio engine stops with high consumption plugins.
