Hey,
Can anyone steer me in the direction or video turorials on how to build presets from scratch in Collective 2?
I downloaded the manual but it seems to be for the older version.
I've googled searched it to death and can't find what I'm looking for.
I'm trying to build my own presets or take a stock presets and add more sounds to it, so like say an Instrument preset with pads and add a bell sound layer?
Is there a way to copy and paste sound layers from one preset to another? That would probably work too.
Thanks

I presume the procedure for "crafting a new preset" is similar from original to Collective 2. Near the top there are tabs, one for browser and another for the details. Once you have a preset you like, go to the "design details" tab, hit the + to add a new layer, and then choose waveform or sample, volume, filters, envelope, and all that stuff. Mute the default sounds that were there until you get your new layer almost doing what you want, then switch them back on to hear it in the entirety.
You might be better off creating a RACK, and adding in either 2 copies of Collective, or Collective and something else (like 4OSC...) with the bell sound you like. Take the midi "input" on the left of the rack to the MIDI inputs on each of the 2 (or more) VST you want, and send their audio outputs to the L/R audio outputs on the right side.
I don't think there is a way of copy/pasting the completed sound layers WITHIN Collective from one patch to another, other than creating them manually; it's not obvious how to do, and a quick AI/google search implied it wasn't an available option ?

Thank you for this info,
I'll mess around with it more, I'm thinking Collective 2 is more of a playback synth with some tweaking available?
Would be great to be able to cut and paste sound layers from one preset to another.
I think you can save a sound, then open that sound up in another preset, so that's kind of a work around as well, I'll have to mess with it a little more to confirm that it carries all the sound settings over.

Don't get me wrong - Collective is quite capable, once you open up some of the internal menus. It's probably easier, though (at least initially) to layer with a rack than doing the same within Collective - unless you want to have the same envelope for each layer.
