Hello, my 3rd laptop died and after much F buttoning and searching to revive it, to no avail, I bought a inateck SSD transfer device,removed/connected my SSD-SATA-B from the dead laptop and transferred T-7 to my HP Z-640 desktop using Windows 10. My problem is that T-7 is stuck in demo mode even after signing into Tracktion's website and updating my info. When I open T-7 the unlock option screen comes up on top of T-7, I sign in with my email and password and the unlock screen disappears but T-7 is still there and my edit's are listed but the individual tracks won't open. I've switched to Waveform 13 but still want to use T-7.Hopefully it's something simple and goofy that I missed and any help is HUGELY appreciated to solve this. Thanks!!
All the thing's I've learned up till now I know.

Most likely the keyfile for T7 is locked to The computer's machine number. If you copied over the config files try renaming the T7 license file and log out/in to your account again in T7, hopefully that will trigger a renewed License file.

Another possibility is the folder structure... did you copy all the files back to the same drive letter and folder locations? Supposedly 14 will make that easier (??) in that the folders on the OS match the folder structure in Waveform 14; but the older versions used internal folder structures, so content may require copying or trickery to get them operational again.
In my case I went from Windows 8.1 to a new laptop running Win11; but copied the folders intact; so even older VST2's were instantly available. I just used c:\recording\ and have folders under that for .\vst64, \vst32, \devices, .\projects\<name>, \devices, etc. VST3 needed re-installing, as they sit by default in various windows program and data folders.

Tracktion 7 should still be in the downloads section of your account, why not just reinstall?

From what I gather, the T7 is operational, but the edits themselves are in a "confused" state where content is missing. My suggestion was to make the transferred projects "look" the same at the OS level, so all the traction project file references resolve correctly.
If that didn't work, it also may be possible to recover from an archive or backup if these had been taken; and there is also a mechanism to "locate missing files", although I have no direct experience with these.

We'd have to hear back from the original poster - probably T7 just being pointed to and not installed wouldn't work, as there would be no Windows registry info for it - but agree if it had never been properly installed in the first place, it presumably would not work , or not well.
However the project files are another matter, that I had been referring to. "Edits listed but tracks not openiing" makes me think the first hurdle has been completed.
