Can't use legato reliably at all

Hi,

When trying to use legato in Ample Sound guitars (in this case using the L) it's like it's completely random. The first time I put the note on it works. The 2nd time it doesn't. But if i change the legato keyswitch to another place it works again for one time. After that, i have to change it again and it works just one time. If there are other notes even worse, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I know it changes string automatically, but when i try to choose the string it just goes one string above where the not is being played and so legato is not possible. I've tried the several modes of playing, tried several velocity settings, not works reliably. It's really frustrating.

How can I reliably use the legato, without the software changing the strings on it's own?

Are you playing on midi keyboard?

I'm on midi keyboard, but this isn't the case of live playing, it's composing wise, cause I'm trying to create riffs on my DAW and the feeling I get is that it's completely random.
