Hey Jo,
Is there any realistic chance of a native Linux version of MuLab within the next two years? I will not repeat the arguments for why it would be valuable. I would just appreciate an honest answer on whether it is on the roadmap or unlikely to happen, so we can forget about it and move on.
Cheers

I cannot answer that question with an explicit yes or no.
Both a Yes and a No would be an unsound answer.
However i do not see a native MuLab for Linux possible this year.
What I can say is that I am trying to further improve and abstract the platform-dependent pillars step by step. This is good for any platform MuLab runs/will run on, and for both app and plugin operational contexts. And I am taking concrete steps in that regard, even very recently regarding modal message loops, which I want to get rid of as much as possible, step by step, and that has to do, among other things, with what we already communicated regarding MuLab on Wine. But perhaps even MuLab on Wine is no longer an option for you?

+1 for a native Linux version. I've just made the switch and it would be great to have MuLab on Linux at some point.

Good to hear the improvements that you are doing. Being super honest with you, nothing beats a native version because it's not only the software itself, but it's also the whole ecosystem. ML runs nicely on WINE (not 100%, since I still get the PeekMessage + GetMessage issues), but some plugins still don't. With a native solution, I could run, for example, the https://lsp-plug.in plugins. Anyway, I trust you that there is a progression on the topic. I'll forget this year and come back next year to remind you.MuTools wrote: Wed Jul 15, 2026 3:12 am I cannot answer that question with an explicit yes or no.

I want to add my voice and say that I would LOVE a Linux version!!! I'm glad you are working on the internals in preparation. I hope that you can soon support it.
