Anyone having this problem? The cursor will hang as well as the counter. Tracks will still play but the cursor and counter remain frozen. Rewinding a few times will "unstick" it. I'm running Panther 10.3.5 w/ 768 megs of ram.
Any insight much appreciated

This problem has been around for many months-We have a right to a working cursor for Mac users-this is discrimination!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, this is annoying. I also found problems when trying to export (archive) projects both compressed and uncompressed. Tracktion won't open the archive audio and complains of "errors" even though other programs can read them find. Have you experienced this?
Anyhow, Thanks again,

The cursor problem is really annoying. When I restart the program it works normal again. I'm also running Panther

Yep always had the same problem here.
Mainly occurs when the computers been left for 5 mins or so.
The only fix is to rewind to the begining of the song.
That seems to kick start it again.
Im on Panther too.
Maybe a fix in T2...?

Yeah, seems like I read some mention of a problem like this but I can't locate the source now. Did a search here for "archive errors" and "audio errors" but found no results that fit. It's strange because one of three projects I attempted to archive worked perfectly. The other two give errors. I'll keep looking and post info if I find anything in case anyone else experiences this prob.tracktion monkey wrote:Not done much archiving![]()

Try returning to the beginning of the track edit or marked region. I set the command to my spacebar so it's second nature. Not a fix but sure beats restarting the program. Really, that's not necessary!
Yes, it's annoying. Yes, we're all aware of it. Yes, it's been there since the Mac beta. Yes, Jules is working on it - and may have thought it was fixed in an earlier release. I think those of us who have been reading and posting here for some time begin to lose interest when the same topics come up repeatedly. Welcome! Now for another rehashing!
Chalk the cursor and archive strangeness up to minor bugs that strengthen the argument for another T1 patch release. I tend to think that there are more minor bugs in the Mac version -having used Tracktion on both platforms. The lack of support for mac standards like au plugs, altivec and multiprocessors further the divide. The (missing) Final Mix support is only the most recent example.
I have to think that this is indicative of Jules working on T2. I'm looking forward to some of these things being resolved in the new release. I'd much rather believe this to be the case than suspect Mackie and Jules of ignoring the Mac side of development.
Now for a much repeated compliment: Tracktion runs great on low end Mac hardware despite these things. Who knows exactly why - great code, low demand graphics? Who cares anymore? Jules gave the mac community what garageband promised and failed to deliver for low end hardware - simplicity AND functionality. Isn't that what using a Mac is all about?
Finally, none of this will make your songwriting, musicianship, production, ideas better. The sooner we have transparent technology, the sooner we get back to making music. Meanwhile, close your eyes and try listening a little more! I imagine that my Tracktion interface is all controlled by hand and facial gestures in a 3D environment - like a virtual studio engineer!
