I am having a problem with Tracktion - yesterday I was running Reason as a ReWire slave and found that the 'end loop' marker would not go beyond a certain point. After trying to move the 'end loop' marker in both Tracktion and Reason without ReWiring I determined that it was a Tracktion problem. It is connected to the tempo set for the project - slower tempos mean less bars available before the 'end loop' marker freezes and will not go any further.
I have been more or less evangilizing for Tracktion on Homerecording.com, and have tried everything I can think of to solve the problem including deleting and re-exporting the 'currentUserSettings' file and uninstalling and reinstalling the program from the .zip file that I originally d/loaded.
Have you encountered this problem in the past? What would you recommend I do?

Well I'm not Jules but I'll try to help you anyways. I just tested out your scenario and it seems like the end loop will only go out a certain amount past the last midi clip. So all you have to do is insert an empty midi clip (hitting G is the fastest way) and stretch it out to the desired length. Then you'll be able to move the end loop marker again. Just to be sure I set up a 1000 bar loop at 60 bpm and it worked fine. I'm sure it can go even higher.

didn't Jules add that limitation as a feature to stop people losing the end-marker? I seem to recall him mentioning it as a sanity check somewhere.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Maybe if its in Rewire mode, and people try to move the end marker unsuccesfully, there should be a pop up that tells you why you cant move it. I think that could help with the confusion.valley wrote:didn't Jules add that limitation as a feature to stop people losing the end-marker? Doesnt make me any difference tho, I hate Rewire

Thanks AD80 - that solved my problem. It was about time for me to do a complete backup anyway...
I can now say, without reservation, Tracktion rules.
