Merging midi notes

You can merge midi parts, but can you merge midi notes?

Me tooi wish we could merge audio clips
Thou you know that you can render them thus achieving merger.

I've requested that feature more times than I care to remember. Personally, I'd rather not have merge though so much as the grouping concept typically used in vector graphics and DTP apps. Select a bunch of clips and group them, then you can treat the group as a clip, but ungroup them whenever you need.

I'm hoping for a third type of clip: "group clip" or something, which can contain MIDI, audio & automation data..
